Brussels, 12th November 2013 – Two years after closing its sixth buy-out fund – a €400m fund focused on European lower-mid market businesses – Argos Wityu has opened a new office in Brussels to address the Benelux market.

The rationale for this move is to expand Argos’s geographic presence from its traditional core bases of France, Switzerland and Italy and to target opportunities in a small but interesting market with a real bias towards mid-market (97% of 2012 buyouts with EV below €250m according to EVCA). Argos believes that there is an opportunity for an alternatively minded Private Equity firm to carve a niche in Benelux as we have in our other markets.

Benelux is an attractive market with space for a team looking at small and medium sized companies in unconventional or complex situations in particular MBIs or carve-outs.” comments Gilles Mougenot, Argos Wityu partner who will be heading the new office in addition to his existing responsibilities in Paris.
