Argos Wityu sells Groupe Roc-Eclerc after 7 years of strong development
Paris, July 10th – Acquired by the Argos Wityu investment funds in 2005, the Roc-Eclerc Group has been sold to Daniel Abittan (founder of PhotoServices, Grand Optical, Acuitis) and to the management team.
N°1 in franchise funeral services, ROC-ECLERC is a network of trade mark and brand name franchises with nearly 500 points of sale in France and turnover of 145 M€.
Argos Wityu is particularly proud to have accompanied, over a period of nearly 7 years, the strong development of the ROC-ECLERC Group which is now number 2 among funeral services companies in France.
After undertaking 5 build-up purchases, the company’s efforts were permanently focussed on the growth of the Group through the doubling of the network, which today totals nearly 500 shops. Led by Sandrine Thiéfine, President of the Group, a pallet of tools and services advantageous to the franchises (national advertising, creation of a buying centre, distribution of funeral insurance, partnerships with the banks, insurers and mutuals, a training centre, web service, marketing tools …) was also created and put into place. This adventure perfectly illustrates Argos Wityu’s desire to accompany enterprises over the long term, through the promotion of growth rather than leverage.
« What we have achieved with Argos Wityu has been outstanding, with growth and strong network dynamics. Our relationship has been excellent throughout the seven years of our collaboration, which is indispensable in a partnership. I am sure that our new financial investors will give us new momentum. Daniel Abittan’s experience in the development of franchise networks is decisive. It will require us to rise to the challenge to pursue and accelerate the development of the Group.” Sandrine Thiéfine, President, Groupe ROC-ECLERC
