Can you introduce yourself in a few words? Your age, your family situation and the country you live in?

Aïssatou

Born in Dakar (Senegal), 26 years ago, I grew up between Abidjan (Côte d’Ivoire), Tunis (Tunisia) and Lomé (Togo), before arriving in Paris (France) for my studies.

Tell us about your career and how you joined Argos.

Aïssatou

I studied finance at ESCP-Europe Business School (Paris and London) and the University of Southern California – USC (Los Angeles). During that time, I explore different fields and companies with internships in finance at Total, L’Oréal, and Deloitte.  After graduating, I started for the two-year Deals Graduate Program at PwC, where I also passed my CFA levels 1 and 2, before joining Argos.

Is this the path you thought you would take when you started your studies?

Aïssatou

I always wanted to help individuals and more specifically entrepreneurs to thrive and develop their potential. That is why I chose to first go to a business school then enter the Private Equity environment.

The world of private equity has changed a lot in recent years. What is your definition of PE? How do you see it?

Aïssatou

I see private equity as a growth lever and potential unlocking tool for entrepreneurs to reach their full potential.

What gets you out of bed in the morning?

Aïssatou

Challenges and the feeling that I can contribute to improving individual lives and overall society, one way or another, at my small scale.

Outside of your job, what are your passions or commitments?

Aïssatou

Women empowerment deeply matters to me. That is why I founded an initiative aiming at connecting and supporting women and young girls on professional and personal levels. I also enjoy staying as active as possible. This year, for instance, I have started playing tennis which adds to yoga and playing football (for fun). I also love playing the piano and traveling as often as permitted in this Covid context.
