Can you introduce yourself in a few words? Your age, your family situation and the country you live in?

Lilia

My name is Lilia Kadri, and I am married with 2 super children. I have lived in France since the age of 12.

Tell us about your career and how you joined Argos.

Lilia

I started my career at PWC Luxembourg as a financial auditor before joining Argos four years ago as the compliance officer.

Is this the path you thought you would take when you started your studies?

Lilia

When you begin your studies at business school, you don’t really think about a specific job. However, compliance and internal control are close to how I feel about everyday life: talking with people to better understand their job, and maintaining proximity so that I can help them effectively. This is perfectly in line with my role at Argos: helping the company to reduce risk as much as possible and do its job in a responsible manner.

The world of private equity has changed a lot in recent years. What is your definition of PE? How do you see it?

Lilia

It is above all an entrepreneurial approach:

– to help companies financially
– to support them in developing their future strategy
– to increase their bottom line over the long term
– to strengthen the real economy

The feeling that guides you the most in your daily life?

Lilia

I like my job, and I like the people with whom I work. I believe we are a cornerstone in the economy of the country. This reinforces my desire to play a role in community service.

What encounter - or moment - stands out in your time at Argos?

Lilia

Closing periods are quite stressful but they enliven the atmosphere among the people working on a project. It’s a moment that brings us together; stressful surely, but so exciting.

Some say we are the average of the people we meet. What do you think? What do you think?

Lilia

It’s true that we can learn from the life experience of our teachers, parents, friends, partners and colleagues. I am convinced that we are much richer by being open to the differences of others.

Is there a person you admire, who inspires you on a daily basis? (e.g. a writer, artist, politician, etc.)

Lilia

Barack Obama. He is a smiling, determined and lucid man, who has taken on many bold challenges, ranging from saving a financial system to granting universal healthcare. He has a constant vision of human progress. I admire his ability to handle words and moods while expressing a certain audacity, firmness and clarity. I agree with him on one of his important principles: you should sincerely try to do something. V. S. Naipaul said: “The world is what it is; men who are nothing, who allow themselves to become nothing, have no place in it.”
“I like my job and I like the people with whom I work. I believe we are a cornerstone in the economy of the country.”

How do you see yourself in 10 years?

Lilia

In 10 years, I would like to have explored and carried out my entrepreneurial plans.

Do you have a special place that reflects who you are, that inspires you and contributes to your balance?

Lilia

My hometown. It allows me to reflect on how far I’ve come and my ability to go further and exceed my limits.
