Argos Wityu opens new office in Amsterdam and continues to expand its European presence

Amsterdam, 6 July 2023 – Pan-European Private Equity group Argos Wityu announces today it has opened its Amsterdam office. This expansion marks a significant milestone in the firm’s continued growth in Europe, reinforces its presence in the Benelux, and further strengthens its commitment to providing close support to Dutch mid-sized companies.

The Argos Wityu funds and its Benelux team have had significant success, with more than €100m deployed in the country through a (i) period of very active investment in the Netherlands, via its platform investments in Cohedron (2017-2021), Schenk Tanktransport (2021), and IJssel Technologie (2022), (ii) consistent deals pipeline, and (iii) dynamic Dutch buy-and-build program with 19 closed transactions (strong success case with Cohedron closing 17 add-ons) and several ongoing opportunities for the Argos Wityu companies .

The new office constitutes a complement in the group’s Benelux presence and will serve as a strategic hub for Argos Wityu to strengthen its presence in the Netherlands and provide enhanced value to the supported companies. With its dynamic economy, strong financial infrastructure, and diverse talent pool, Amsterdam offers an ideal location for the firm’s expansion plans.

The Benelux has become a core region for Argos Wityu since the establishment of the Brussels office in 2013 by Argos Wityu founding Partner Gilles Mougenot. The newly established Amsterdam office will work conjointly with Brussels, and house a team of Dutch professionals with extensive and broad experience. Operationally led by Partners Richard Reis and Maarten Meijssen, the local team will be made by Roel van Ark (Director), and Guy Valette, a new Associate hire who started in June 2023. The team will be further reinforced with additional recruitments.

Argos is pleased to welcome Guy Valette to the team as part of the expansion to Amsterdam. He holds an MSc in Finance & Investments from Rotterdam School of Management and a Master of Law – LLM financial law from Erasmus School of Law. Before joining Argos Wityu in Amsterdam, he started his career as an Equity Derivatives Trader at All Options and worked at Deloitte as a Corporate Finance M&A Consultant.

The opening of the Amsterdam office aligns with Argos Wityu’s strategic vision to expand its European reach and establish a strong and local foothold in key markets. This latest addition to the firm’s growing network of offices underscores its dedication to delivering exceptional value to its investors and companies it supports. With an acquisitive local portfolio and a strong pipeline of potential investments, the team is ready to work closely with local entrepreneurs, companies, and investors to convert investment opportunities and create long-term value for all stakeholders.

Richard Reis, Partner at Argos Wityu said: “We are thrilled to establish a permanent presence in Amsterdam which will enable us to better serve our companies and investors in the country. The opening of this office demonstrates our dedication to expanding our European footprint and further deepening our relationships with European businesses.”

Maarten Meijssen, Partner at Argos Wityu said: “The Netherlands has proven to be a very dynamic market, which is a clear witness of the country’s longstanding history when it comes to commerce and entrepreneurship – a culture that resonates very well with the values of our own organization. Therefore, opening an office here only feels natural as a next step in Argos’ development in Europe and the Benelux.”

Argos Benelux (Netherlands) is located at Officia I, De Boelelaan 7, 1083 HJ.
