Francfort am Main, Germany
Entry in 2018
Founded in 1989, aktivoptik became one of the leading optician and hearing aid chains throughout Germany.A differentiating factor of aktivoptik is that stores are strategically located pre-cashier zones of large hypermarkets, leading to high frequency and a well-balanced share of recurring customers. In 2018, Rolf Schneider, former CEO and founder was seeking a succession solution. Against large interest from potential buyers, Argos Wityu was the partner of choice. We jointly structured the succession and developed a strategic roadmap, how we want to grow the company. Following the rebranding to LoQu Optical Group, we structured the Group into three distinct business lines: one being its origin business aktivoptik, a second business line, Optikhäuser, where traditional premium opticians are bundled as well as a newly developed high-street fashion and omni-channel-ready concept “smykker”. The whole group purchases its products through a centralized purchasing department, leading to an improved margin profile.
