Tell us about your career and how you joined Argos?
Aurélie
I joined the Paris office of Argos in January 2020 after working for 13 years as an executive assistant at Apax Partners. My training is in human resources. Today I am Assistant to the CEO, and I’m also in charge of HR administration.
Is this the path you thought you would take when you started your studies?
Aurélie
I studied to be an executive assistant in the context of international relations. At that time I studied four languages (French, English, Spanish and German), but with the passage of time I have forgotten a bit of one of them. I’ve been on my current career path for more than 20 years now.
The world of private equity has changed a lot in recent years. What is your definition of PE? How do you see it?
Aurélie
Private equity is all about supporting the companies in which we invest, helping them to grow and taking part in their success.
What is the feeling that guides you most in your daily life?
Aurélie
Knowing that every day will be different, because my job is very varied
What encounter - or moment - has marked your journey at Argos?
Aurélie
Working with a young, dynamic and well-meaning team is a gift I treasure every day.
Some say we are the average of the people we meet. What do you think?
Aurélie
My motto is “Life is meant for sharing”. So I’m always looking out for the well-being of others. The Paris investment team says that I am Argos Paris’s Mum. That makes me feel even older than I am!
” Private Equity exists to enable managers and companies in their ambitions through strategic support and capital to create long-term value. “
You interact daily with managers. Is there an entrepreneur you admire in the market?
Aurélie
Michelle Obama, because she is a modern, yet simple and inspiring woman who has made significant strides with regard to ethnicity.
How do you find balance in your life as a whole?
Aurélie
I love to cook for my family and my friends, and my Sunday strolls are a welcome opportunity to recharge my batteries. I also enjoy cycling in the woods, and I’m looking forward to being able to travel again.
Outside of your job, what are your passions or commitments?
Aurélie
I read a lot, and I have a special relationship with books. I take care of them. I won’t buy a book if it’s dog-eared or damaged. Even if it’s the last one on the shelf! What’s worse, when I go to a bookstore, I straighten up the books. I know, I’m an incurable obsessive-compulsive.
Do you have a special place that reflects who you are, then inspires you and contributes to your balance?
Aurélie
A large, handsome house filled with friends on the Normandy coast.
