Can you introduce yourself in a few words?
Maëlis
My name is Maëlis de Calan and I grew up in Paris.
Tell us about your career and how you joined Argos?
Maëlis
Before joining Argos as an Analyst, I received an education in general sciences at the Ecole Polytechnique in France, and also graduated with a master’s degree in finance from the London School of Economics in the United Kingdom.
Is this the path you thought you would take when you started your studies?
Maëlis
Not precisely, no. Although I do have a genuine interest in sciences, I actually don’t think I was cut out for a scientific career. I realized that I love discovering businesses and the stories, people and know-how which lie behind them, so this is a chance to be able to work with SMEs and contribute to entrepreneurial stories at Argos.
The feeling that guides you the most in your daily life?

Being inspired by people who surround me, while staying true to myself—it’s always a balance!
How do you find balance in your life as a whole?
Maëlis
Spending valuable time with the people I love, running, watching movies, reading, but most importantly—daydreaming as much as I can.
How do you see yourself in 10 years?
Maëlis
I have always had a leaning towards art. I used to dance, paint and take drama classes when I was younger. I have this idea that maybe in 10 or 20 years I could have both lives professionally, in PE and in art.
