Can you introduce yourself in a few words?
Arne
Born in 1990 near the Belgian coast, currently leaving in the neighbourhood of Brussels (Belgium)
What path led you to Argos and the position you hold today?
Arne
After having worked at a specialised food & agri M&A in Amsterdam for 1.5y, I was contacted to join the quite recent and growing Argos Wityu Brussels team as an analyst in May 2016. Since then, I was able to close multiple transactions and support several portfolio companies, which allowed me to grow my position within the Argos team.
Is this the path you thought you would take when you started your studies?
Arne
Yes. I was born and raised in an entrepreneurial family and have worked in the family business my whole childhood with activities ranging from administrative work, to working in the warehouse and driving trucks to the clients to deliver the products. As a result, I always intended to work closely together with entrepreneurs during my professional life – and private equity is the perfect industry to achieve this. It is an industry that allows to meet managers and entrepreneurs daily and discuss with them about their business vision and dreams.
The world of private equity has changed a lot in recent years. What is your definition of PE? How do you see it?
Arne
Private equity should be seen as a very close stakeholder for companies and their management teams, which will allow the management to accelerate the development of their company in a sustainable way, and its organisation to be further professionalised.
What gets you out of bed in the morning?
Arne
Meeting new management teams, discovering new industries, and spend time with the people who are important to me.
How do you find balance in your life as a whole?
Arne
I love spending time with my partner, family and friends, and share good food, wine and beers with them. Further, I discovered cycling during the Covid period, and I also like running.
Outside of your job, what are your passions or commitments?
Arne
Until recently, my free time was mainly dedicated to the renovation project of our newly acquired house. This took quite a lot of free time, so, I should try to find a new commitment now 😊
