Can you introduce yourself in a few words?

My name is Tobias and I live in Frankfurt.
Is this the path you thought you would take when you started your studies?
Tobias
Honestly, yes. Before moving to Munich for my master’s degree, I knew I wanted to work directly in private equity after graduating.
The world of private equity has changed a lot in recent years. What is your definition of PE? How do you see it?
Tobias
Private equity is more than investing in companies. For me it’s about entrepreneurship, supporting companies as they take the next step in their development. The investment is only the starting point of the journey.
What gets you out of bed in the morning?
Tobias
The diversity of tasks – no two days are alike.
How do you find balance in your life as a whole?
Tobias
Doing sports, meeting friends and family, discovering new places.
Outside of your job, what are your passions or commitments?
Tobias
I really enjoy being in the mountains. So in the winter, I go snowboarding, and in the summer I go hiking. Apart from that, I love good food and wine.
Do you have a special place that reflects who you are, that inspires you and contributes to your balance?
Tobias
Again, mountains are great for relaxing. That said, relaxing while enjoying Italian cuisine at my favourite restaurant in Frankfurt might also be a good option.
