Can you introduce yourself in a few words?

Capucine

My name is Capucine Richemond and I’m a dual French and Swiss national. I’m 24 years old and I live in Paris.

What path led you to Argos and the position you hold today?

Capucine

Three years studying at Warwick Business School in England and a Masters at HEC Paris sparked my interest in the financial sector. After gaining experience in sustainable finance at a bank and then an investment fund, I met the Argos team at an event. I was immediately interested in Argos’s two strategies (ACA and Mid-Market) and I got on very well with the team. I started with an internship, and I’m now an analyst at the Paris office.

Is this the path you thought you would take when you started your studies?

Capucine

Definitely not! But life is full of opportunities and chance meetings.

What is your definition of PE?

Capucine

For me, it’s an exciting job in which we get to discover businesses, their stories, their people and their plans. If the conditions are right, we provide day-to-day support to their management teams, helping them turn their ambitions into tangible, long-term success.

What gets you out of bed in the morning?

Capucine

Firstly, being part of a motivated, ambitious, hard-working and friendly team. After that, it’s the knowledge that my work has meaning, for the businesses we support, our investors, our economy and society in general. And finally, it’s showing that taking environmental and social aspects into account is not incompatible with growth: on the contrary, it can be a powerful driver of value creation.

How do you balance your professional and personal life?

Capucine

I play sport regularly – especially tennis and volleyball – which helps me stay active and unwind. I like taking advantage of the various activities that Paris has to offer, going out with friends and trying new restaurants. At the weekend, I often like to escape the bustle of Paris and explore the other regions of France. I recently started learning how to kitesurf, which is an exciting addition to my travels!

Outside of your job, what are your passions or commitments?

Capucine

Outside of work, I like to broaden my horizons and form connections with people of different cultures. In 2022, I had the opportunity to spend four months travelling in Latin America, when I was able to not only discover various new countries but also contribute to the development of local communities. One of my most memorable experiences was helping to set up a microcredit and training programme in Guatemala. I lived with a Guatemalan family for five weeks, so I was able to immerse myself fully in the local culture, and I really felt that I was making a difference.

How do you see yourself in 10 years?

Capucine

In 10 years’ time, I see myself having achieved the ideal balance between a fulfilling family life and a stimulating career. I hope that I’m doing exciting work, in which I’m continuing to learn, and that I’m leading meaningful projects.

”For me, it’s an exciting job in which we get to discover businesses, their stories, their people and their plans. “

Do you have a place to share with us that inspires you?

Capucine

It’s a charming family house surrounded by reeds on the shore of Lake Neuchâtel in Switzerland. It’s a unique place, very wild, and I have a lot of childhood memories there.

In another life, you would be...?

Capucine

A diving instructor in a place where I could swim with manta rays.
