Can you introduce yourself in a few words?
Simon
My name is Simon and I live in Paris. I am married and the father of two little crawling princess.
Tell us about your career and how you joined Argos.
Simon
I joined just after finishing my engineering school, where I studied innovation and entrepreneurship. Those two words could only lead me to Argos!
Is this the path you thought you would take when you started your studies?
Simon
Absolutely not. Every engineer should be trained in fluid mechanics or computer application development. That must be the reason why I now support Zodiac Milpro and Coexya.
The feeling that guides you the most in your daily life?
Simon
For me, PE stands for “the Power of the Entrepreneurs”. We’ve seen so many beautiful stories come out of our support for entrepreneurs in their journey towards independence for their company, as they develop internationally, invent new products and services, and much more. We enable them to turn their ideas into reality and we provide support for their leadership.
What encounter - or moment - stands out in your time at Argos?
Simon
One day, we were heartily thanked by a manager for our support during a tough time in his life when he was fighting a serious illness. That was tangible proof that our work is to support companies, which means having an impact on people, society, and the environment. Managers, employees, and all stakeholders rely on us. People are therefore our focus, and our mission is to behave responsibly.
Some say we are the average of the people we meet. What do you think?
Simon
The standard deviation is so broad that I could be anybody! We meet amazing people all the time in our job and taking a small piece of every encounter is what makes me grow.
Is there a person you admire, who inspires you on a daily basis (e.g. a writer, artist, politician, etc.)?
Simon
I’m a fan of John Le Carré’s books and of the person he was and all he represented. He did field service, lived Cold War politics, travelled around the globe, and then portrayed the complexity of the world in his novels.
How do you find balance in your life as a whole?
Simon
Breathing some pure mountain air by hiking or skiing keeps the wheels turning.
Outside of your job, what are your passions or commitments?
Simon
Sports, friends, family (and especially being a father) don’t leave any time to get bored.
How do you see yourself in 10 years?
Simon
The same but a bit older
“ We’ve seen so many beautiful stories come out of our support for entrepreneurs in their journey. ”
Do you have a special place that reflects who you are, that inspires you and contributes to your balance?
Simon
There is a small, authentic village in the heart of the Italian Alps where my great-grandmother was born. I go back there every year to hike and enjoy the cuisine of the Aosta valley.
In another life, you would be... ?
Simon
If I were talented enough, a rugby player or a mountaineer!
