Can you introduce yourself in a few words?
Coralie
I am married and mother of 3 children who are between 7 and 13 years old.
Tell us about your career and how you joined Argos?
Coralie
I started my career in luxury goods, working for Guerlain and Louis Vuitton, before switching to services. First, I joined a consulting firm, then a law firm before entering the world of private equity. After several years at Apax Partners, I joined Argos.
Is this the path you thought you would take when you started your studies?
Coralie
Not at all! I wanted to travel the world and I thought the best way to do that was to manage a five-star hotel or work in an embassy.
The world of private equity has changed a lot in recent years. What is your definition of PE? How do you see it?
Coralie
The private equity I know is the one that supports SMEs. My definition of private equity is a team that takes the time necessary to accompany managers through the transitions their companies must undergo. SMEs are the heart of our European economy. They are firmly anchored in everyday reality, and I am a pragmatist, so this resonates with me.
What gets you out of bed in the morning?
Coralie
Preparing and sharing breakfast with my hungry children. And an hour later, joining my professional ecosystem: the colleagues I esteem, the CEOs and CMOs of the companies we support and with whom I so much enjoy working.
What encounter - or moment - has marked your journey at Argos?
Coralie
The real turning point was when the Argos Digital Club was created. The Digital Club brings together about 20 people representing almost all our companies. We move forward together, we discuss, we help, we support each other, and in the end, we are more efficient. The ties that bind us are strong and sincere.
How do you balance your professional and personal life? (e.g. family, sports, etc.)
Coralie
I am incredibly fortunate that the managing partners at Argos have agreed to let me take on a position of responsibility while working part-time. So, I spend the school holidays enjoying my family life. An efficient on-off rhythm that combines the best of both worlds.
How do you see yourself in 10 years?
Coralie
Partner in an investment fund. Even though I am part of the operations team. Private equity needs female partners.
Do you have a place to share with us that reflects you? A place that inspires you and contributes to your balance?
Coralie
My life is a whirlwind. So I appreciate the silence of the mountains. A view that carries me far away. Ideally at the edge of a high-altitude lake. It is also very likely that you will see me at the start of triathlons, marathons and swimming competitions, ready to take up yet another personal challenge.
”My definition of private equity is a team that takes the time necessary to accompany managers through the transitions their companies must undergo.“
In another life, you would be... ?
Coralie
A volunteer in a pink smock working mainly with hospitalised children. Not being sure that there will be another life, I will do everything to make it happen in this one.
